Attention Parents and Students: New Texas Law Prohibits Cell Phones in Schools for Students New Cell Phone Law – What Parents Need to Know Texas House Bill 1481 goes into effect for the 2025-2026 school year, and it will directly impact how students use cell phones in all public schools in the state of Texas. Under this new law: 🚫 Students are not allowed to use cell phones during the instructional day 📚 Schools must enforce policies that limit or prohibit device use 📵 Devices include cell phones, smart watches, non-school issued laptops/tablets and wireless earbuds/headphones. Our school is reviewing and updating our campus policy to comply with this law. More details will be shared soon, but we wanted to give families a heads-up now so students can begin preparing for a more focused, less distracted classroom environment this fall. Parents, please begin discussing this new law with your child, to help prepare them for the 2025-26 school year. We appreciate your support as we work together to create the best learning space for all students!
